How to compare two images

Before / after is a free tool that puts two images on top of each other with a divider you drag, so you see what changed, in your browser and without uploading them.

  1. 1. Add the Before image

Drop a JPEG, PNG or WebP image on the Before box, or click it to select one. Each image can be up to 25 MB.

  2. 2. Add the After image

Do the same in the After box. When both images are set, they show on top of each other.

  3. 3. Move the divider

Drag on the image with your finger or the mouse. With a mouse, you can also just move the pointer. Before is on the left of the line and After is on the right.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded?

No. The two images open in your browser, on your own device, and are not sent to our server. The privacy page lists Before / after comparison among the tools that run entirely on your device.

Is it free? Is there a limit?

It is free, with no account and no daily limit, because your own device does the work. Each image can be up to 25 MB.

Which image formats can I use?

JPEG, PNG or WebP, for both images. HEIC photos are not supported; save them as JPEG first.

Which side is Before?

Before is on the left of the divider and After is on the right. Move the divider to the left to see more of After, and to the right to see more of Before.

What if the two images have different sizes?

Each image is fitted in the same frame and keeps its proportions, so nothing is cropped or stretched. When the shapes are different, the edges do not line up, so use two images with the same size and framing for a clean comparison.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Open the page in the browser of your phone, select the two images, and drag the divider with your finger.
