Effective date: 29 October 2026
1. Scope and acceptance
Subtalk is a Mac app made and sold by Yang Yang HOANG LE, an individual developer in Vietnam who runs Yangopen (“we”). By downloading or using the app, or getting a licence key, you agree to these terms. The trial page also uses your Yangopen account, which the Yangopen terms of service cover.
2. What the app does
Subtalk listens to calls, meetings, videos and files, transcribes and translates them, writes notes and summaries, answers questions about them and reads translations aloud. It runs on your Mac and sends none of your recordings or notes anywhere (see the privacy policy).
3. Recording and other people
Use Subtalk only where the law allows it. Tell the other participants before you listen to or record a meeting, and ask their consent where the law requires it. Do not use the app to record secretly or to record meetings you are not allowed to.
4. Machine and AI output
Transcripts, translations, summaries, answers and voices are made by machines and may be wrong or incomplete. Check them before you rely on them for anything important, such as legal, medical or financial matters or contracts.
5. Voices
The voices are synthetic. Do not use them to imitate a person without that person's consent, to deceive or harass anyone, or to break the law. Some voice models have their own use rules, listed in the app (Settings › Advanced › Open-source licenses).
6. The free trial
- A trial key unlocks every feature for 7 days from the moment it is made. It is free; nothing is charged, now or later.
- Each Yangopen account and each Mac gets one trial. The key works only on the Mac whose code was used to make it.
- When the trial ends, new work stops and your notes stay readable. A session that started during the trial can go on.
7. Buying a licence
Sales are not open yet. Before they open, this page and the Subtalk page will state the price, what a licence covers and how refunds work. A licence will be a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
8. Not allowed
Sharing or selling licence keys, getting around the licence or the trial (for example by changing the Mac's clock), and copying, reverse-engineering or redistributing the app, except where the law allows it.
9. Updates and availability
Subtalk checks for signed updates and installs them when you agree. Features, models from outside services and supported macOS versions may change as the app is updated.
10. Intellectual property and open source
The app, its design and its name belong to Yangopen or its licensors. Open-source parts keep their own licences, listed in the app.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, the app is provided as is, and we are not liable for lost data or indirect damage. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under consumer protection law. These terms are governed by the law of Vietnam.
12. Contact
Send questions about these terms to [email protected].
