How to convert HEIC to JPG

HEIC to JPG is a free tool that converts iPhone photos (HEIC, HEIF) to JPG or PNG in your browser, without uploading them.

  1. Add the photos

Up to 200 photos at a time, each up to 100 MB.

  2. Choose the format

JPG for sharing and Zalo or Facebook, PNG to keep every pixel.

  3. Wait

The photos are converted one at a time, about a second each, and come out the right way up, as on the iPhone.

  4. Download

One photo downloads as it is, more photos as one ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Not answered here? Ask Yangopen

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The photos are converted in your browser, on your own device. Safari opens HEIC itself; in Chrome, Edge and Firefox the page first downloads a HEIC reader (1.5 MB) from Yangopen. No photo is sent anywhere.

JPG or PNG?

JPG makes smaller files that open everywhere: Windows, Zalo, Facebook, email. PNG keeps every pixel and makes files several times larger.

Are the date and the location kept?

No. The new file holds only the picture: the date taken, the camera details and the GPS location stored in the HEIC are not copied. Keep the HEIC if you need them.

Why does my iPhone save HEIC?

HEIC holds the same photo in about half the space of JPG. To take JPG photos instead, on the iPhone select Settings › Camera › Formats › Most Compatible.

Will the colours change?

In Safari, no: it keeps the photo’s wide colour range. In other browsers the photo is converted without it, so very bright reds and greens can look a little duller.

Is there a limit?

It is free, with no account. Up to 200 photos at a time, each up to 100 MB. A very large photo that the browser cannot save at full size is saved at about 16 megapixels, and its card says so.
