Convert HEIC to JPG in bulk: iPhone photos ready to list and share

Open HEIC to JPG, drop up to 200 HEIC photos, choose JPG and a quality, wait about a second per photo, then download: several photos come as one ZIP. The photos are converted in your browser, never uploaded, free and with no account. To make the iPhone shoot JPG from now on, choose Settings › Camera › Formats › Most Compatible.

What HEIC is, and why convert

HEIC is the format the iPhone saves photos in: the same photo in about half the space of a JPG. The catch is that not everything opens it. A Windows PC may need the HEIF extension installed before it can show one, and many photo tools take only JPG and PNG. On Yangopen itself, Remove background and Compress image take only JPEG, PNG and WebP for now.

JPG opens everywhere: Windows, Zalo, Facebook, email. So for product photos shot on an iPhone, converting to JPG first is the least trouble.

How to convert HEIC to JPG in bulk

  1. Add the photos Open HEIC to JPG and drop HEIC or HEIF photos, click to choose them, or paste with Ctrl+V. Up to 200 photos at a time, each up to 100 MB.
  2. Choose the format Under Format, choose JPG · smaller, opens everywhere for listing and sharing. Choose PNG only when every pixel must be kept; the files are several times larger.
  3. Choose the quality Under JPG quality, choose Best · 95, High · 90 or Medium · 80, smaller. If the photos will be compressed or resized afterwards, choose 95 or 90.
  4. Wait a moment The photos are converted one at a time, about a second each, and come out the right way up, as on the iPhone. In Chrome, Edge and Firefox the page first downloads a 1.5 MB HEIC reader from Yangopen.
  5. Download For one photo press Download photo. For several, the button shows the count, for example Download 36 photos (ZIP).

Tips for sellers

  • To make the iPhone shoot JPG from now on: Settings › Camera › Formats › Most Compatible. In exchange, new photos take about twice the space.
  • The converted photos do not keep the date, camera details or GPS location. For listing photos that is a plus: shoppers cannot see where you took them.
  • For products in vivid colours (red lipstick, a bright green shirt), convert in Safari. Safari keeps the photo's wide colour range; other browsers can make very bright reds and greens a little duller.
  • Only need a square with a logo? Resize & add logo opens HEIC directly, so you can skip the conversion.
  • After converting, remove the background with Remove background for a white marketplace photo.

When this tool is not the right one

When you need to keep the date and location, for example a delivery proof photo or a site photo: keep the original HEIC, because the new file does not carry that information.

A very large photo that the browser cannot save at full size is saved at about 16 megapixels, and its card says so. If you need the full size for a large print, check the card before using it.

Frequently asked questions

Are my photos uploaded?

No. They are converted in your browser, on your own device. Safari opens HEIC itself; in Chrome, Edge and Firefox the page first downloads a HEIC reader (1.5 MB) from Yangopen. No photo is sent anywhere.

JPG or PNG?

JPG makes small files that open everywhere. PNG keeps every pixel but makes files several times larger. For listing photos, choose JPG.

Are the date and location kept?

No. The new file holds only the picture: the date taken, camera details and GPS location are not copied.

Why does my iPhone save HEIC?

HEIC holds the same photo in about half the space of JPG. To shoot JPG instead, choose Settings › Camera › Formats › Most Compatible.

Is there a limit?

It is free, with no account. Up to 200 photos at a time, each up to 100 MB.

Will the colours change?

Not in Safari. In other browsers the photo is converted without its wide colour range, so very bright reds and greens can look a little duller.
