Effective date: September 20, 2026
1. Scope and acceptance
PaperHear is an iPhone app that reads documents, articles, pasted text and scans as audio while saving your listening position. By downloading, accessing or using the app, you agree to these terms and the applicable Apple Media Services terms.
2. Your documents and device
You keep ownership of the documents, notes and other content you import or create. You are responsible for protecting your iPhone, keeping the backups you need and controlling who can access the device or files you export.
3. Lawful content
You must have the right to access, process and share the content you place in PaperHear. Do not use the app to collect, process or distribute content unlawfully or in a way that violates another person's rights.
4. Cleanup and narration are assistive tools
PaperHear can remove repeated headers, footers, page numbers and citations, but the result can be incomplete or imperfect. Listen to and review important material before relying on it for academic, professional, medical, legal or safety decisions.
5. Imports and sharing
You choose the files, links, scanned pages and text sent into the app. Review the cleaned document, notes and exported material before sharing. Yangopen does not control how a recipient stores, copies or forwards a file.
6. Free access and Plus
The free plan includes three imports each month. PaperHear Plus is a one-time App Store purchase that removes the import limit. Apple shows the price in the purchase flow and handles payment, refunds and restoration.
7. Voice packs
PaperHear offers a small set of downloadable voices that run on your iPhone. A voice pack is downloaded at your request. If a pack is not available, the app asks you to download it rather than silently switching to an Apple voice.
8. Availability and updates
Features, system requirements, offers and compatible devices can change as PaperHear is updated. Keep a separate copy of important material before removing the app, replacing your iPhone or relying on an exported file.
9. Limits of the tool and your responsibility
PaperHear is a reading and listening tool, not a substitute for professional review or source verification. To the extent permitted by law, you remain responsible for checking important content before relying on it.
