Effective date: August 16, 2026
1. Scope
This policy covers the Quipline iPhone app, its keyboard extension and the Quipline reply service used during the beta.
2. What Quipline processes on your device
To draft replies, Quipline processes the conversation you paste, text you type, and text it recognizes on-device from chat screenshots you import. The screenshots themselves are not uploaded and are not kept after recognition. The reviewed conversation, your settings and your generation history are stored in the app's shared storage on the device until you delete them; the chat in use expires on its own after at most two hours.
3. What is sent, and when
No content leaves the device until you tap Generate. At that moment, the text you chose (the reviewed conversation, your draft or the situation you described, but never images) and your reply settings, such as language, tone, length and any style notes you wrote, are sent over HTTPS to the Quipline reply service to produce your reply options. To generate, the service forwards that text and those settings to a third-party AI text provider (OpenAI), which handles them under its own terms. After the response is returned, our service retains no conversation content or generated replies.
4. Keyboard Full Access
The keyboard types and inserts text without Full Access. Paste, screenshot import and reply generation ask for Full Access because they read the pasteboard and use the network. Declining Full Access keeps typing working and disables only those features.
5. Server logs
The reply service keeps content-free logs and records only: a request ID, the anonymous identifier described below, whether the request succeeded or failed with its error code, timestamps, and counters of requests and estimated cost used to apply the beta limits. We never log or store conversations, drafts, screenshots, generated replies or access tokens.
6. Beta identifiers and limits
When you open the app, it asks the service for an anonymous beta session; no account or invite token is involved. The service creates a random identifier for that session and uses it to enforce daily generation limits and a shared beta budget. It is not linked to your name, phone number or Apple ID.
7. Retention and deletion
You can see the number of stored records and delete your history, saved replies and the chat in use at once in the app: Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete saved data. Keyboard setup, appearance, language and reply style are kept. Because Quipline's server keeps no conversation content, deleting from the device removes everything Quipline stores. Support email is retained only as long as needed to handle your request.
8. Children
Quipline is a communication tool for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13.
9. Changes
If data practices change, this page is updated before or with the release that changes them.
